Barton Buechner

Vetransitions is a Limited Liability Company (LLC) established to support the creation of better on-campus support for returning student veterans.  This is accomplished through original research, public speaking and conference presentations, pro-bono advocacy work, training, and consulting.

Barton Buechner, PhD, is retired US Navy Captain and a scholar-practitioner with over 30 years of experience in the areas of organizational communication, change management, and strategy development at the state, national and international levels. He is an adjunct professor in the Military Psychology MA program at the Adler School of Professional Psychology; serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the CMM Institute for Personal and Social Evolution, is the Veterans Knowledge Community Representative for the National Association of Student Program Administrators (NASPA) Region IV East, and is a mediator (Ombudsman) with the National Committee for Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR). He is the Founder of the Veterans Connections group at Fielding Graduate University, and also serves as a volunteer community advisor to the Student Veterans of America (SVA) Chapter at Central Michigan University. His recent speaking and consulting has focused on creating interdisciplinary contexts on campus to support transitioning veterans, and developing network forms of multilateral mentoring relationships beyond organizational and cultural boundaries.
